United Cerebral Palsy

United Cerebral Palsy and its 58 affiliates in the U.S. and Canada advocate for and provide services to people with disabilities and their families. Among those served by UCP affiliates are people with cerebral palsy,  Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, and a range of other intellectual and developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities, such as those caused by a traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Founded by parents in 1948 who were dedicated to creating a better and more accessible world for children with disabilities, UCP has long championed access to innovative support services, resources and assistive technologies that open doors for people with disabilities.

We believe fully autonomous driving technology has the potential to provide a safe and accessible mobility option for people with disabilities, making it possible for them to commute  and live more independently without having to drive themselves or depend on others to drive them.

We share Waymo’s vision for more connected communities and a future where everyone can get to where they’re going safely and with more options to reach their favorite and most crucial  destinations, such as school, work, recreational and entertainment sites, and disability service or healthcare facilities.
